the-limbix:

Dacrymyces was first described as a genus in 1816. The fruiting bodies were described as fleshy or gelatinous, often rounded and bright yellow or red. However as often happens in science, our understanding has improved. The genus now contains 39 species distributed across the globe. Almost all are gelatinous and bright yellow is a common attribute. This non yellow example is almost translucent with a rounded top. I’m currently investigating it’s species which I believe to be Dacrymyces cupularis.
